OPA Fellow

Hi everyone! I am Saw, and I am an incoming junior in bioengineering pursuing a pre-med path. I grew up in Myanmar (Burma) and moved to San Francisco in 2018 before coming to Penn. I am also part of the Rachleff Scholars Program and spend most of my time researching lipid nanoparticle (LNP) based drug delivery systems for acute critical illnesses at Penn. Last summer, I conducted tissue engineering and 3D bioprinting research abroad in Aachen, Germany with the GRIP program. Outside of class, I am actively involved in outreach initiatives at BMES and SWE, writing for the Penn Healthcare Review at WUHC, volunteering at KDSAP and at annual Penn Relays and Penn Science Olympiad events. In my free time, I like to take Chinatown trips with my friends, catch up on the latest MARVEL movies, go weightlifting, and play intramural soccer at Penn Park. Feel free to reach out to me anytime with any questions you may have (even if you are not in my cohort)! I look forward to seeing you all soon! Ian Peng
