Hi! My name is Asher White, and I’m an incoming sophomore studying Bioengineering with plans to pursue the Accelerated Master’s in Robotics. I lived in Hill College House during my freshman year and am happy to answer any questions about housing or first-year life at Penn. This past semester, I did research in ModLab, a modular robotics lab, and I hope to soon work on prosthetic device research. On campus, I’m involved with TOM and Penn ADAPT, two clubs focused on developing assistive technology, and I was also very involved with Penn Hillel and the Jewish community. This summer, I’ll be volunteering as a rehab engineer at a children’s hospital and working at my family’s restaurant. Outside of academics, I love all kinds of music, from metal to show tunes, and I’m a huge animal and nature person. I’m especially interested in bio-inspired robotics, definitely inspired by my love for fantasy and science fiction.
